FAQ

How are birthdays celebrated?

We will acknowledge your child's birthday at school by singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY along with giving your child some other special day privileges.  Your child may come home with something from thier class friends as well. As we continue to follow the district health and wellness policies, there will be no food in the celebration of birthdays.

What about classroom celebrations?

We may have a few different classroom celebrations for the year.  The room parent and I will be in contact with you as they are scheduled.

What's for lunch and how much does it cost?

Can I volunteer in the classroom?  Am I able to go on field trips?

YES!  Of course, we would love your help.  All volunteers, whether weekly or for a field trip need to have a background check completed.  You can fill out the form on-line here.

How do you handle homework?

Homework will be assigned at the beginning of the week and posted to our website calendar on the homepage.  Usually there will be math homework and a reading/reading response assignment each night.  Homework should be turned in each day.  There will also be a Weekly Language Sheet for the week that will be due on Fridays.  Any homework changes/updates will be communicated through Remind.com, our website, and/or a note home.

How will I know about assessments?

All assessment dates (including class, district, and state) will be posted on our website calendar as they are scheduled so students should have ample time to prepare.

**Pre-assessments in math will be given at the beginning of each unit.  These assessments are only used to place your child in the appropriate math groups and to show that your child has shown growth.  The final tests are what we use as math grades along with other class work during the unit.**
